The University of the Third Age - Welwyn-Hatfield


Gardening Study Group

The group meets on the 2nd Monday of the month, at 10.00a.m. during the Autumn and Winter months at the Verulam Communal Hall, Verulam Close, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 3PH. (click here for map). We charge £1.00 per meeting at this venue to enable us to cover the cost of a Speaker and for coffee and biscuits.

Trips for Garden group members are selected at our planning meeting in February each year. The next meeting at the Verulam venue will not now be until Monday, 8th October when we will have a Speaker.

Summer trips for Garden Club members have been arranged as follows:-

MONDAY, 16th April: Trip to Scotsdales Garden Centre, Great Shelford which includes a talk by Peter Jackson on Topical tips for Garden and House Plants plus a cream tea. Organised by Carole King.

THURSDAY, 10th May: Trip to Chenies Manor and includes a tour of the garden and house plus coffee and biscuits. Organised by Corrie Godfrey.

MONDAY, 11th June: Visit to Bromley Hall, Standon, Nr Bishops Stortford. Organised by Peter Reeves.

FRIDAY, 13th July: Coach trip to the Old Vicarage, East Ruston, Norfolk. Organised by Daphne Hodgson.

MONDAY, 13th August: Trip to the Cambridge Botanical Garden and includes a tour guide. Organised by Merle Gwyn.

Monday, 10th September: Trip to Dassels Bury, Braughing, includes tour of garden and cream tea. Organised by Margaret Lewis.
